Tomorrow is Simeon’s 1st birthday. We are having a little thing here like I usually do for the kids. Nothing really big. Just close family and I think that means it is going to be just us. LOL ANywho, I made him his cake…I will post pics later. Got him a few toys. Little booger is RUNNING. He started walking 2 months ago. He truly is adorable. I know Pat and Mom would adore him.
I have been trying my hand out in the kitchen with some things I never cooked before. I made Beef Manhatten the other night. Now, that is my fave dish when we eat out but I am really picky about it. Let me tell you, I think I made a killer! It was awesome. Best I ever had! Everyone else really liked it too! Then tonight I made BarBQ. First time for that too. And it was also very very good. I made Polish Mistakes tonight for tomorrow and used the leftover sausage/cheese mix to make a breakfast quiche. Looks yummy! I go in spurts cooking. I cannot bake worth a hoot but I am not too awful bad a cooking. I love presentation but I also like a ton of substance. So give me food and a lot of it! LOL
Makes me remember a dish my Mom would make…*snicker* She took it to all pitch ins. Church, work, you name it. It was beef stew in a huge bread bowl. Everyone would ask her what her recipie is and she always said, it was a secret. I remember when she told me about this lady in our church that made killer chicken and noodles and everyone always raved but she would NEVER tell her secret. Mom was at her house one day helping her cook and saw all kinds of Sweet Sue empty cans in her trash! **lol** Well, my mom’s beef stew was store bought hawaiian bread and Dinty Moore!! *snort* I have several recipies like that myself. But I will NEVER tell.
Ok, just one…
I get rave reviews on this pasta I make…but it is a Secret!
Gotta run. Allan thinks he is dying in the other oom with all 4 kids. *snort*
OH! BTW! I got a big ole gift card to Roberts Day Spa for Mother’s Day! (they remembered how I love the facial and massage!) I also got a Mother’s Ring with my kids and my moms stones. Iwear it with my wedding set. It is beautiful! Yeah!

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all you Moms.
This will be my first mothers day without my mommy. I have to say it is very depressing. Extreemly so. I am also having ahard time with guilt. I am so sad that I did not appreciate my mom enough while she was here. I did not fully understand how she felt without her mom. How sad SHE may have been each Mother’s Day, holiday, birthday, ect. Too worried thinking of myself I am sure. Realizing how much Mom suffered the past year. Wondering if it was just another complaint and now I realize how horrible it was for her. It is eating me up. Put it this way, I have been doing a ton of praying and asking the Lord to help me and He does. It is when I get my hopes and mind off Him that I struggle so.

Mommy? Can you see me from where you are? Can you hear me? I love you and I appreciate you and thank you for how you raised me. For being the wonderful example you were. I am proud to be your daughter and miss you so very much.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mommy.

Feeling: Weather: Doing:
Ok, so I am sitting here coveting everyone ELSES blog design and TRYING to redo my own. I love this layout but hate my graphics. I love the colors pink and green and I guess following the trend some are using with black n white and cleancut but my blog looks all blotchy I think. Oh well. Who has time for this anyway? I have 4 homeschool kids to raise…a family to maintain, a country to run! *snort* Anywho, I went to n&d and bought a couple wp themes…but one has me plain ole stumped. That cool spliced one.
Simeon had another trip to the ER the other day. With a temp of 104.6!!!!!! Yikes. He is doing better tho.
I am hurting. Bad. I mean like litterally. My arms, legs, head. And have been for a long time now. I dunno what is wrong. Silas will bump into me or Simeon will head bang me and I will litterally pass out from the pain. What is up with that? LOL I am done with doctors tho. I will just have to have you all pray for me. So get to it already!
I am fixing pork chops tonight I think. A friend found a ton of mushrooms in his yard and is brining them over tonight for me to fry up. YUM!
My FIL, who used to be a landscaper, is helping us landscape my yard. I LOVE it. Of course I do though…now that I am selling my house. *sarcastic* Curb appeal sure is…appealing! Iwill post pics when I get more done. It looks great tho!
Last night at church, I was pinning Silas between my arms and legs so he would calm down and quiet down during service…he finally quits grunting and spinning around and yells, “MOM! Your Brokenin’ Me! Yes, I’m Are!”
*snicker*
I dunno where he gets it.

Weather: Feeling: Doing:
Saw this on Pam’s site…it is AWESOME. It blessed me. You HAVE to go see it.
Feeling quite sad at the moment. Mom’s stone is set and everything. I also found some pics in my mom’s things that I had never seen before! Anywho, here are a few pics…along with MY future resting place as well, in front of Mom and my Opa & Oma…

I have a lot of family here. Hewitt’s and Norris and Stafford and whatnots. It is nice and peaceful there. Out in the country.
The pics of Mom, I adore. I already framed several…take a look…

I put several other pics up on my flickr site as well…go look if you have a mind to…
I have to take Shekinah to piano lessons here in a sec…
Had pizza tonight. I am just too bummed to cook tonight. I am planning on lasagna tomorrow. I will make up for it then I suppose.

Verbal Faux Paus
|
|
Feeling: Weather: Doing:
Ok…so this is the most I have blogged in a COONS age! I just had to blog this however…
We have had several verbal ditties here lately and I have to crack up…or wonder if I AM amoung Kentuckian Hicks.
Allan was preaching last Sunday at church. He was really into what he was saying. When all the sudden he about lost us all when instead of saying “We need a vision, and I am serious!!!” He said…(drumroll)
“We need a virgin!! ANd I am serious about that!”
Good thing he kept plowing on through and did not even stop to correct himself or the ‘mood’ would have definitely been broken! Needless to say, NONE of us are letting him live it down. You should see how disrespectful we are. When he is leading worship service, someone will pop up with a ‘V for Victory’ sign…or should I say virgin???
Then, the other day, SImmone was yacking about politicans. I could not figure out what in blue blazes she was talking about when I finally figured it out…mayhap you would have had the same problem is they were pronouncing the word politicans paul-littie-cans. (maybe she is not far off, ya think?)
Last night we had TWO doozies. Allan and the girls were discribing a gal from Calvary who sang and the girls were going on and on about her dress. Allan kept saying’ you know, Mom…a midnight dress?’ I finally got it…they meant
an ‘evening gown’.
My son, Silas, loves the pixar animated, CARS. We have watched it so much that we can all almost quote it. Well, ALlan was describing the part where Chick ‘won’ and was asking where all the ‘graffiti and girls’ were? Allan meant, CONFETTI. Not graffiti.
Sheesh. My poor kids get it honest.
*snort*

Weather: Feeling: Doing:
Saw anything like this????

I saw this on the side of the road…and I had to turn around and take a pic of it. No Way! So!!!! Is it a mad hubby or mad wife that did this?
Can you imagine? Yeah, say that again, Darlin’ and I will throw that stove right into your frontend!!!!
Gives a whole new meaning to ‘throwing that out the window’ eh?
Went by my Moms grave today. Her Easter flag blew away to Lala land evidently. Her foundation for her stone was lain so I am assuming the stone will be put up soon. Here is a preview of it. It is not finished yet, the bottom and the vase is not on it…

I sure miss her. It is almost 6 months since she passed away now. 8 months since Pat died. And sometimes it hits me so stinking hard I cannot catch my breath. I wonder if this is normal. It is like a fresh pain all over again. Like I am totally sucker punched. I miss my Mommy so bad. I still have her voice mail thingie and Allan saved it as a sound file on my phone so I listen to it a lot to just hear her voice.
I have been ebay shopping like crazy. Had to buy some clothes for the boys…and of course, I match em up. *snicker* I want to put Silas in heirloom clothes before he outgrows it…Been purchasing a few more diaper bags…So far, this is my fave maker. Her bags are great. They stand up and do not flop, which I hate. And I have bought a lot of bags since Silas has been born. It is my fetish. Forget shoes…I am a diaper bag freak. This one is another fave…
Also been getting into some wp themes and graphics when I get some time…So I got this set from Caroline…I am thinking of subscribing to a few more places too but I dunno…
We are planning a mission trip to Brasil in August…Bro. Ryan & Sis. Meide Thompson. The girls, Allan and I.

We are really excited about that. Please pray for them. Especially Meide. While they were here on deputation recently, her Dad passed away. We had them here for dinner and two days later he passed away. How horrible to not even be there.
Ok, fixing beans and cornbread for supper tonight…better get…
